How does it feel to be 35?
I feel like I can give you a short and long answer.
The short answer.
I feel thankful, grateful, and blessed to live to see another year of life. God has truly blessed me, and I want to give him all the thanks and praise on this day.
The long answer.
As I begin to reflect on what it means to see another birthday, I can not do so without first saying thank you, Lord, for giving me the chance to see this ripe age of 35. I am blessed beyond all measure and will continue to be your servant forever and ever.
This day is special, more so than other birthdays, because I can clearly articulate how I feel. Years prior, I would explain I feel good, or I feel like I am still 20, but this time it feels different. Although I still feel good and feel like I am in my 20s, I feel more distinguished. I no longer feel out of place in a room full of executives. I no longer feel like the kid hungry for knowledge and respect. I feel as if I am paying my dues but ready for the seat at the table. I am bold and confident and will remain curious, humble, and empathetic.
