I am not power-hungry. I do not need a title to feel great. I do not see my role as a director to intimidate or make anyone else think they are beneath me. I do have a problem with individuals who use their position of power to belittle others. I have a problem with people with titles who make others feel inadequate. I have a problem with those who think they are more important than the staff who take care of our business. As I continue to climb my way to the top, I will not know everyone by name, but I will strive to make everyone from senior leadership to staff to our consumers and referrals feel important. There will be no VIPs, and if so, the only VIP in my book will be those who feel like they have no voice. Those who feel like they are underrepresented continuously will become mission-critical individuals. Monetary gains will not be my driving force. The mission, vision, and culture will remain at the forefront of my attention.
