I currently only share about 20% of what I write with others. I question how my writing would change if I knew that one day millions of people would read everything I wrote. For one, I know that I would examine every word for clarity and ensure that no one was offended by my writing. Second I would spend more time editing my writing to leave it in a polished state.
I enjoy the freedom of writing whatever comes to my head, but I think having the idea of what is in my head shared by others is a little intimidating. What would they think? How would they feel? But I guess it would be different because I would have to take a deep dive into who my audience is.
At this time, my primary audience is myself. As I begin to write more, I will need to shift my mindset from what I would like to read to what my audience is telling me. Hence feedback will be crucial. I love feedback. As a writer feedback is another form of payment. I want open and honest feedback on my writing. I do not care if you think I can not handle it. In order to improve my writing I will need more feedback. This maybe a chance for me to act bolder.
