Identifying career goals can be a difficult task for many individuals. However, with the right approach, it can become a fulfilling journey toward success.
For me, the process began with self-reflection. I am a free thinker who loves reading and writing, and I have a doctor of business administration degree. I knew that I wanted to use these skills in a way that would inspire millions of people. So, I started by reflecting on my interests, values, and skills and how they aligned with different career paths.
The next step was to research different careers and industries. I sought information about the career paths that would allow me to use my knowledge and skills meaningfully. I also spoke with people who worked in those fields to gain a better understanding of what their jobs entailed.
As an administrative fellow, I was allowed to shadow all the executives and staff when I started. I quickly learned that I enjoyed working all over the hospital, and I am fortunate that my whole career has been around identifying and improving processes.
Identifying your career goals is a process that takes time and effort. Take a step back, reflect on your interests and values, research different career paths, and speak with people who work in those fields. With persistence and dedication, you, too, can identify your career goals and achieve success.
